Fabrizio Romano shares what he’s now hearing about Paul Pogba returning to Man Utd

Manchester United is poised to embark on another rebuilding phase during the upcoming summer transfer window, with Ruben Amorim expected to take full control of recruitment efforts in the off-season. However, one notable absence from the club will be former record signing Paul Pogba, as Fabrizio Romano has indicated in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter that reports regarding the French midfielder’s return are ‘not concrete,’ particularly following his recent eligibility to play after serving a doping ban.

Amorim assumed leadership at Old Trafford in November after Erik ten Hag was dismissed due to a disappointing start to the season. While Amorim initially achieved some positive outcomes, a dismal stretch resulting in only seven points from nine Premier League matches has left the Red Devils likely to remain in the lower half of the table for the remainder of the season. He will have the opportunity to rectify this situation in the summer, although it remains uncertain which players the Portuguese manager will acquire to enhance his squad’s performance.

The star has only just come back from a doping ban

Recent reports indicate that prominent players like Victor Osimhen, Geovany Quenda, and Jarrad Branthwaite have been frequently associated with the Red Devils. However, it is essential for the team to enhance their midfield, as Christian Eriksen, Kobbie Mainoo, and Casemiro are expected to leave the club.

Despite ongoing speculation regarding a potential sensational return of Pogba to Old Trafford in the near future, Romano has dismissed these claims, indicating that there is no substantial evidence to support the idea of a third stint for the World Cup-winning midfielder at the Theatre of Dreams.Romano wrote in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter:

“At the moment, I’m not aware of anything concrete on this story. Zero.”

Pogba initially signed with Manchester United in 2009 as a youth player after transferring from Le Havre, although he made only seven appearances for the first team during Sir Alex Ferguson’s tenure.

Recognizing the necessity for a change, Pogba moved to Juventus, where he excelled for four seasons, netting 34 goals in 178 matches as the club secured four consecutive Serie A titles with him in their midfield.

This success prompted Manchester United to re-sign him for a then-world-record transfer fee of £89 million in 2016. Nevertheless, despite spending six seasons at United, Pogba managed to win only the Europa League and a League Cup, largely due to managerial shifts and inconsistent team performance.
