Manchester United confirmed line up vs Real Sociedad as breakout star makes full debut

Manchester United has implemented three alterations to their starting lineup for the Europa League match against Real Sociedad on Thursday evening. Following a 1-1 draw with the La Liga team last week, United must secure a victory to maintain their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.

Ruben Amorim has made three adjustments from the team that drew 1-1 with Arsenal over the weekend, with Ayden Heaven, Patrick Dorgu, and Rasmus Hojlund taking the field in place of Leny Yoro, Victor Lindelof, and Christian Eriksen.

Eighteen-year-old Heaven excelled in the recent draw against his former club, Arsenal, earning him his first competitive start in senior football. Consequently, Lindelof has been relegated to the bench, as the Swedish international is anticipated to depart the club when his contract concludes at the end of the season.

A new name in the Manchester United squad

Manchester United received additional positive news ahead of their match against Real Sociedad, as midfielder Manuel Ugarte has recovered sufficiently to be included on the bench. The Uruguayan had been sidelined for the last two games due to a minor injury but is now available for selection.

Harry Maguire remains unfit for selection but is expected to make his return against his former team, Leicester, on Sunday night. Meanwhile, Mason Mount is also nearing a comeback after being out for three months. Leny Yoro, who experienced a setback during the draw with Arsenal, is anticipated to be unavailable until after the international break.

Ruben Amorim has opted for a youthful bench for the upcoming match, with James Scanlon making his debut in a senior matchday squad. The 18-year-old has already accumulated 10 senior appearances for the Gibraltar national team but has yet to play at the club level.

United XI vs Real Sociedad: Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Heaven; Dalot, Casemiro, Fernandes (c), Dorgu; Zirkzee, Garnacho, Hojlund. Subs: Harrison, Mee, Amass, Fredricson, Lindelof, Collyer, Eriksen, J. Fletcher, Ugarte, Scanlon.
