Arsenal is keen on acquiring one of the Premier League’s most prolific strikers this summer.

The Gunners are preparing to make significant investments in the upcoming transfer window, with a leading centre-forward being the primary focus for manager Mikel Arteta.

The club has been associated with various potential signings, and Fabrizio Romano reports that Alexander Isak of Newcastle United is regarded as a “top target.”

The well-known journalist further noted that Liverpool is also contemplating a bid for the Swedish forward. Additionally, Arsenal has recognized RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko as another viable candidate.

On his YouTube channel, he stated: “Substantial offers will undoubtedly be presented for Alexander Isak.

“Arsenal is in the mix, and Liverpool is also interested. For Arsenal, he stands out as the top target, while Sesko is another name under consideration. These are the two primary candidates.

“For Liverpool, Isak is among the players they are evaluating. They have already initiated discussions with individuals close to the striker.”

ARSENAL MAY STRUGGLE TO AFFORD ISAK THIS SUMMER

The 25-year-old has demonstrated exceptional performance for the Magpies this season, netting 23 goals and providing five assists across 33 matches in all competitions.

Currently, the Sweden international is at the peak of his career and is rapidly evolving into a ‘world-class’ striker, as noted by the official Premier League website.

Arsenal holds him in high regard; however, their prospects of acquiring him may diminish if the Magpies secure a top-four or top-five finish, thereby qualifying for the Champions League.

Isak is valued at £63 million on Transfermarkt, but should Eddie Howe’s team qualify for the prestigious tournament, they could easily demand between £130 million and £150 million for the striker.

With three years remaining on his contract, the Magpies will be in a favorable position to negotiate.

The situation could change if they fail to qualify for the competition, yet Arsenal would still likely need to invest at least £100 million to sign the former Real Sociedad player.

At present, it seems unlikely that the Gunners will make a significant financial commitment for Isak, especially as they also need to address the acquisition of a new defensive midfielder, a backup goalkeeper, and a versatile winger.

It is more probable that Arsenal will pursue a deal for Sesko instead.

The Slovenian has also performed admirably, scoring 17 goals and providing six assists this season. His contract includes a release clause ranging from £59 million to £67 million for the upcoming transfer window.

Although the 21-year-old lacks Isak’s experience in the Premier League, he has the potential to become a formidable goalscorer once he acclimatizes to the league.
