“Arsenal will be there” – Fabrizio Romano confirms Arsenal interest in star striker

Arsenal is actively seeking to acquire a new striker during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Gunners have faced difficulties in scoring this season, and injuries have significantly affected their pursuit of the Premier League title.

While it appears they may fall short to Liverpool in this season’s title race, Arsenal aims to build a formidable squad for the next season to mount another challenge.

The striker they are focusing on is currently in excellent form; however, they will encounter competition from Liverpool for his signature.

As reported by transfer news specialist Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League powerhouses will be vying with their league rivals for the acquisition of Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak.

Romano said on his YouTube channel: “Big, big, massive proposals will come to the table for Alexander Isak.

“Arsenal will be there, Liverpool are also there. For Arsenal, he’s the absolute top target, Sesko is the other name on the list. They are the two main names.

“For Liverpool, he’s one of the names [Isak] they’re considering. They have already made contact with some of the people close to the striker.”

Arsenal hold long term interest in signing the Sweden international striker. They tracked him when he was at Real Sociedad before his move to Newcastle United.

Alexander Isak to Arsenal?

Given his current performance level, Arsenal, or any other club interested in acquiring Isak, would need to surpass their existing transfer record to obtain his services.

The Newcastle forward has netted 23 goals and provided five assists in 33 matches across all competitions this season, with his most significant contribution being the decisive goal in Newcastle’s Carabao Cup final victory over Liverpool.

With three years remaining on his contract, Newcastle is well-positioned to demand a substantial transfer fee for their striker.

At present, the club has no plans to sell him; however, this situation could change if Isak expresses a desire to leave St. James’ Park.

Additionally, the Magpies are exploring potential options in the transfer market should Isak depart the club this summer.
