Journalist spots what Man Utd players did with Andre Onana after Lyon draw and it doesn’t look good

What Manchester United players did with Andre Onana following the final whistle of their game against Lyon has emerged and it doesn’t look good.

Man United drew 2-2 with Lyon in Thursday’s Europa League tie.

Thiago Almada opened the scoring in the 25th minute before Leny Yoro equalised in first-half stoppage time.

With just two minutes left on the clock, Joshua Zirkzee headed home from Bruno Fernandes’ cross to put his side ahead.

The Red Devils seemed destined to take a one-goal advantage into next week’s second-leg until Rayan Cherki capitalised on Onana’s mistake to level the game in stoppage time.

Once the final whistle blew, back-up keeper Altay Bayindir ‘patted’ Onana in the centre circle as the players and staff gathered.

However, ‘nobody embraced him tightly’ while ‘some’ seemed reluctant to engage with their goalkeeper following his latest error.

Onana has now committed nine errors for Man United, who have ‘opened talks’ with a £60 million-rated goalkeeper as a replacement.

After the game, Cherki aimed a dig at Onana following his pre-match comments as he followed in Nemanja Matic’s footsteps following his taunt.

Despite his shaky showing in goal, Ruben Amorim jumped to the defence of Onana, claiming he has made more mistakes as Man United manager.

“If you look at the season I’ve made more mistakes than them during these last games and during these last months,” he said.

“There’s nothing I can say to Andre in this moment that will help him, so the most important thing is to be natural and then when the time comes I will choose the best XI to play. But I’m really confident in Andre.”

Onana, who has made 94 appearances across all competitions following his £47 million transfer from Inter Milan, has largely failed to impress since moving to Old Trafford
