Man Utd now eyeing move to sign record-breaking 6 ft 6 keeper to replace Onana

Manchester United are seriously considering a move to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper this summer following Andre Onana’s latest errors against Lyon, GIVEMESPORT sources have been informed.

The Cameroon international should have done better for both goals in the Europa League quarter-final clash on Thursday night, as Ruben Amorim’s side were held to a 2-2 draw ahead of a return leg at Old Trafford next week.

That came after a public spat with former midfielder Nemanja Matic, who now represents the Ligue 1 side, where he was labelled as “the worst goalkeeper in the club’s history”.

Onana has been losing the trust of coaches at Carrington in recent months after a series of underwhelming performances, and now there is serious consideration at the club to signing a replacement this summer.

Chevalier, Trafford and Lammens all considered

While a new number one goalkeeper isn’t considered to be a top priority, sources insist that the position is becoming an increasing problem.

GMS revealed last month that Man Utd are eyeing a potential move for Lille star Lucas Chevalier, and a summer offer could be made in the right circumstances.

However, Lille are likely to put a high price tag on him if there is the potential of a Premier League move, and that is a reason to consider why this might not happen.
