Big boost for Man Utd as Romano reveals ‘most likely destination’ for Liam Delap

Manchester United are reportedly making concrete steps in their quest to land Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.

Although the Tractors are facing inevitable relegation to the Championship, the 22-year-old has been enjoying a prosperous first full campaign in the Premier League. He has thus far scored 12 goals in his 31 EPL appearances, which is no easy feat when playing for a struggling side.

Therefore, the Man City youth product has been on many clubs’ radars, including the Red Devils, who are keen to recruit at least one new striker.

INEOS will be looking to address their attacking issues in the summer, but they might be reluctant to spend astronomical figures on the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen.

Therefore, Delap represents a cheaper alternative, as Ipswich’s relegation means the value in his release clause will drop to £30 million.

In the latest video update uploaded on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano confirmed what’s been reported regarding the player’s buyout clause, while also revealing that Man Utd and Chelsea have made contact for Delap, enquiring about his availability.
