Manchester United set to be without seven players for Lyon clash as Joshua Zirkzee blow emerges

Manchester United could be without as many as seven players for this week’s Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon.

The Reds welcome the Ligue 1 side to Old Trafford on Thursday with the aggregate score level at 2-2 after a couple of mistakes from Andre Onana allowed the French outfit to snatch a draw at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais last week.

Zirkzee was substituted at the start of the second half in United’s 4-1 defeat at Newcastle United on Sunday after suffering a thigh injury, with Amorim later confirming that the Dutchman is unlikely to feature against Lyon.

Meanwhile, Matthijs de Ligt, Tobias Collyer, Ayden Heaven and Amad are also set to sit out of Thursday’s second leg as they continue their recovers from injury.

All four players have sat out of United’s last few games but are in with a chance of featuring for United before the end of the season.
