Ex-Manchester United star Paul Parker has unleashed on Andre Onana as the goalkeeper’s struggles continue.
Ever since arriving from Inter Milan for a reported fee of £47.2 million in the summer of 2023, Onana has struggled to produce his best football.
After a string of costly mistakes, the Old Trafford faithful is beginning to run out of patience with the 29-year-old.
On the back of two mistakes against Lyon last week, Ruben Amorim dropped Onana for the Premier League match against Newcastle United, which the Red Devils lost 4-1.
Speaking ahead of the second leg, Amorim confirmed that Onana would return in goal.
However, former United man Parker, who played for the club between 1991 and 1996, is not happy with Onana’s performances and delivered a scathing assessment.
Speaking exclusively to us via the home of crypto casinos, Parker said: “I just don’t see Onana as a very natural goalkeeper, he doesn’t have very good hands and would be much better off at right back I’m sure.
“For shots, he doesn’t move his feet to get into positions, and dives very weirdly with weak hands. He looks like when a goalkeeper has been sent off and a centre half has to go in between the sticks!”
He continued: “(Nemanja) Matic said in his press conference what many Premier League pundits wouldn’t say. But many of us have been saying for ages that he is not good enough to be Manchester United’s number one, but they’ll all say it now.
“Matic came out and gave an opinion Onana and was met with the absolute truth as he cost [Manchester] United in that game.”
