Manchester United fans are convinced two players ‘can’t play together’ following their remarkable victory over Lyon in the Europa League.
Man United stunned Lyon 7-6 on aggregate to book their spot in the next round of the competition, setting up a semi-final tie against Athletic Bilbao, who beat Rangers.
Harry Maguire headed home in the 121st minute to complete his side’s stunning back, having trailed 4-2 on the night – despite taking a two-goal lead.
Joshua Zirkzee took to social media immediately after Maguire’s dramatic winner as he hit out at Man United fans.
Even though Man United beat Lyon on the night and scored five goals, some fans made their feelings known about two players.
They are convinced Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund ‘can’t play together’ after watching the attacking duo in Thursday’s tie.
At one point, Hojlund even kicked the goal frame in frustration after Garnacho failed to pick him out.
The on-field dynamic between Garnacho and Hojlund didn’t go unnoticed among Man United fans on social media as they believe one of them needs to be sold this summer.
One X user wrote: “Hojlund and Garnacho can’t work together.”
A second said: “Not enjoying the Garnacho / Hojlund relationship… both clearly don’t like each other.”
A third added: “Garnacho and Hojlund have a difficult relationship… and they both need to be sold, I think one might survive this summer but would benefit if both left and we got better players in that suit the system.”
