Man Utd have to agree £42.8million fee to undo mistake with signing

Manchester United’s attacking department has been misfiring. As a result, they have netted only 38 times in 33 Premier League games this campaign.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have scored only six goals combined, while Alejandro Garnacho has netted only five times in 32 league appearances.

Amad Diallo has been out injured in recent months, while Marcus Rashford and Antony were loaned out in January following their poor performances earlier this term.

However, both have found form after leaving. Despite that, it is expected that the duo will be sold during the off-season.

Now, Caught Offside claim that Man Utd are planning to reinforce the frontline this summer and are willing to bring Anthony Elanga back following his eye-catching displays this season.

The Red Devils sold the Swede to Nottingham Forest for a fee of around £15m a couple of years ago, but now they will have to agree a fee of £42.8m (50 million euros) to let get him back to Old Trafford.

Although Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have placed a price tag on the forward’s head, ideally, they don’t want to let him leave and want to extend his deal until 2030.

The 22-year-old’s recent promising performances haven’t just caught Man Utd’s attention, as Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed their interest in signing him.

In 25 Premier League starts this term, Elanga has scored six goals and registered eight assists thus far. He even netted the winner against the Red Devils earlier this month.

He is one of the in-form forwards in the Premier League, and considering the state of United’s current attackers, it was a clear mistake to let him leave, especially given they sold him for very cheap.

Have your say – Should Man Utd bring Elanga back to Old Trafford?
