‘Battle of no confidence’ – Rio Ferdinand makes Man City vs Manchester United derby prediction

City will be coming off of yet another loss going into Sunday’s derby.
After losing 2-0 to Juventus on Wednesday night, Manchester City “couldn’t ask for a better game” to recover than their derby against Manchester United on Sunday.

Rio Ferdinand, a former United great, holds that opinion, but the former England captain thinks Ruben Amorim’s team will cause Pep Guardiola’s squad even more suffering.

Weston McKennie and Dusan Vlahovic both scored goals that led to City’s loss in Turin, leaving them in 22nd position in the league phase table and unable to qualify for the Champions League.

It also meant that City has just won once in their last ten games, and they are in terrible form going into Sunday’s derby.

“Man City’s upcoming match this weekend is, incidentally, the best they could hope for. Ferdinand discussed the Manchester derby with TNT Sports.

“Beating United won’t restore all of their confidence or patch all of the gaps if they want to go back on track, but if they do, it will greatly boost their team and squad’s energy.

However, I’m rooting for the powerful Reds. By the way, they’re also in excellent shape! It’s an unconfident battle.
