Arsenal is actively pursuing the acquisition of former Everton forward Moise Kean, with reports from Italy indicating that two additional Premier League clubs have also expressed interest in the Fiorentina player.
One contributing factor to Arsenal’s 12-point deficit behind league leaders Liverpool, who currently sit in second place in the Premier League standings, is their insufficient goal tally. While Liverpool has scored 69 goals across 29 league matches, the Gunners have managed only 53. Presently, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah leads the Premier League in scoring with 27 goals, whereas Arsenal’s top scorer, Kai Havertz, has netted just nine times.
According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal has prioritized the acquisition of a top striker during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Our transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, has reported that Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s ideal target.
Sources have informed TEAMtalk that RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic are also on Arsenal’s list of potential signings, and it has now come to light that they are interested in Fiorentina’s Moise Kean as well.
As reported by TMW, Arsenal has initiated “first contacts” regarding the former Everton striker, who was characterized by his former PSG manager Thomas Tuchel as a “courageous” player who “does what is necessary” and is “extremely challenging to face” in an interview with beINSPORTS in November 2020.
Kean has been in exceptional form this season, having scored 20 goals and provided three assists in 34 appearances for Fiorentina.
The 25-year-old struggled to make an impact during his time at Everton, and his subsequent loan at Paris Saint-Germain and tenure at Juventus did not meet expectations.
It seems that Kean has finally found his footing, prompting Arsenal to take an interest in him.
TMW has cited Fiorentina’s General Manager, Alessandro Ferrari, stating that Kean’s contract includes a release clause of €52 million (£44 million, $57 million).
Newcastle and West Ham in contact for Moise Kean
Arsenal is not the sole Premier League club expressing interest in acquiring Kean, as discussions regarding his potential transfer are already underway.
As reported by TMW, both Newcastle United and West Ham United have initiated preliminary talks to secure Kean’s services during the upcoming summer transfer window.
West Ham’s interest is justifiable, considering that Danny Ings and Michail Antonio will be out of contract at the season’s conclusion, and Niclas Fullkrug, who is 32 years old, has faced injury challenges this season.
It is noteworthy that Newcastle is evaluating Kean, especially since Eddie Howe currently has Isak available in his squad.
The Magpies, who recently triumphed over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, may be considering Kean as a possible alternative to Isak.
Latest Arsenal news: Barrios interest, Isak bid
Arsenal is looking to acquire a new midfielder during the upcoming summer transfer window, with reports suggesting that Pablo Barrios is among the players being considered by the club.
Andrea Berta, the incoming Sporting Director, is familiar with Barrios from his tenure at Atletico Madrid and continues to hold the midfielder in high regard.
Nonetheless, Arsenal’s primary target for the midfield position remains Martin Zubimendi, a standout player from Real Sociedad.
According to TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent, Fraser Fletcher, Arsenal may pursue Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa if they are unable to secure Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. Additionally, it has been reported that the Gunners are prepared to make a firm offer of €120 million (£101 million, $131 million) for the Swedish international.
Furthermore, Arsenal is reportedly interested in Jorrel Hato and is contemplating a potential transfer for the Ajax talent.
