Bernardo Silva calls out ‘stupid’ Man City players in unfiltered rant following defeat to Man Utd

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has called out his teammates in a brutal rant following their 2-1 shock loss to local rivals Manchester United.

Despite an opening goal from City defender Josko Gvardiol was ruled out by two quickfire goals at the end of the match from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo, securing a 2-1 win for United.

It leaves City with just one win in 11 matches across all competitions, meaning that the Premier League champions have the fewest points per game than any Premier League side since the start of November.

Following the match, City midfielder Silva spoke out to angrily call out his teammates for their performance, labelling the loss as ‘stupid’.

Speaking after the match to Sky Sports, the Portuguese midfielder said: “We totally deserved what happened because at this level, if it’s a game or two, you can say they are being lucky or not.

“If it’s 10 games, it’s not about that.

“If minute 87 of a derby you’re winning 1-0, corner for your team, and the ball ends up at your keeper with a penalty for them, my friend, if you make these stupid decisions when it’s three or four minutes to go, you deserve to pay for that

“If you look at the game until minute 86, there was only one team that could win that game, but in the end, we lost and it’s not one game, it’s a lot of games lately.

“We have to look at ourselves. It’s not about, ‘Oh we’re playing so well and it’s a bit unlucky’. No! It’s the decisions that you make. Today in the last minutes we played like Under-15s and you pay the price.
