However, the report also states that Barcelona has promptly rejected this proposal and intends to extend De Jong’s contract, which currently pays him £400,000 per week.

In 2022, a fee of €65 million was allegedly agreed upon between Manchester United and Barcelona, but this amount is insufficient for a transaction in 2025.
