Fans have praised Bruno Fernandes after spotting what he did on the back of Manchester United’s win over Lyon.
On Thursday night, United produced a classic as they came from 4-2 down in extra time to send Lyon packing in the Europa League.
Late goals from Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire sealed a wild 5-4 win, with the Red Devils advancing 7-6 on aggregate.
After the match, a video surfaced on social media which showed Fernandes taking the time to sign autographs for fans who were waiting outside Old Trafford.
Despite playing more than 120 minutes and the clock ticking past midnight, the Portuguese posed for pictures with as many fans as possible.
Reacting to the footage, one fan said: “Bruno Fernandes played 120 minutes, scored a goal, hit the crossbar nearly scoring one of the best goals ever seen at Old Trafford, led a comeback for the ages then stayed at sign autographs for fans more than two hours after the game had finished. That’s my Captain right there.”
Another tweeted: “That’s been the story of his time at this club. Unbelievable player.”
A third fan added: “What a man! Bruno.”
Someone else wrote: “He’s a much better player and captain than he gets credit for.”
A fifth commented: “He’s exceptional. What a player, what a human. We love you Bruno Fernandes.”
