Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is looking to resume his playing career following the lifting of his suspension.
While at Juventus, Pogba received a four-year ban for violating doping regulations, which was subsequently reduced to 18 months upon appeal, allowing him to return to the field in March 2025.
The date he was anticipating has now arrived, enabling him to intensify his efforts in finding a new club.
In recent weeks, Pogba has been associated with teams in Russia and France, as well as Inter Miami. Additionally, there are ongoing rumors regarding a potential return to Manchester United, although these remain largely speculative.
Paul Pogba training for return
Paul Pogba has been diligently working to regain his optimal fitness level, ensuring that he is prepared to assist any club that may seek his services.
The 31-year-old recently posted a video of himself training with his sons, signaling to the football community that he is ready for a return.
In response, he received a supportive message from his former teammate and current Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes and Pogba developed a strong rapport during their time together starting in 2020, prior to Pogba’s departure in 2022.
The Portuguese player reached out to Pogba with words of encouragement, stating, “Beast mode activated.”
Paul Pogba to Manchester United unlikely to happen
In light of Amad’s injury, there have been suggestions for Manchester United to explore the possibility of signing a free agent, with Pogba being a prominent option.
However, given that United must submit their Europa League squad by early February and Pogba would not be eligible to return until March, the timing proved to be impractical, despite any interest from both the club and the player.
Former player Rio Ferdinand has publicly expressed his desire for Pogba to be welcomed back for training at Carrington.
Pogba remains Manchester United’s all-time record signing, having transferred to the club for a second time in 2016 for a fee of £89 million.
While a third stint at the club is not on the horizon, Pogba is eager to secure a new team and compensate for the time he has lost.
