Contact made: Arsenal now make first move to sign “king of kings” striker who’s outscoring Sesko

Arsenal have now made first contact over a potential summer deal for a £44m striker, who is attracting widespread interest from the Premier League, according to a report.

Gunners stepping up striker pursuit

There are indications that Mikel Arteta is intensifying his search for a top-tier striker, as reports suggest that he holds a strong admiration for Alexander Isak of Newcastle United. A remarkable offer of £101 million may soon be presented for the Swedish forward.

However, Isak is not the sole prominent name on the list of potential signings. RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen are also being considered, while Arsenal has gained an advantage over Liverpool in the pursuit of Inter’s Marcus Thuram.

Fans are likely eager for a high-profile acquisition to rejuvenate the attacking lineup, but there are also some unconventional options being explored, such as Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez and Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Additionally, a former Premier League striker has emerged as a target, with reports from Italy indicating that Arsenal has initiated discussions regarding a potential summer transfer for Moise Kean of Fiorentina.

This endeavor is still in its infancy, and Arsenal may encounter competition from several other Premier League teams, including Newcastle United and West Ham United, who have also begun preliminary talks, while Tottenham Hotspur has been previously associated with Kean.

Kean’s contract with the Serie A club includes a release clause of €52 million (£44 million), but it remains uncertain whether any of the interested clubs are prepared to meet that valuation for the former Everton player.

“King of kings” Kean outscoring Sesko this season

The Italian player has significantly improved since his transfer to Fiorentina last summer, netting 20 goals across all competitions this season, which is three more than fellow target Sesko. He also received a Goal of the Month award for one of his remarkable goals in February.

Pundit Mina Rzouki has praised him as a “king of kings,” indicating that the 25-year-old has made substantial advancements in his game since returning to Italy. However, his past performances in the Premier League remain a significant concern.

While with the Toffees, the Italy international managed to score only two goals in 32 Premier League appearances, and he has faced challenges in Serie A as well, having failed to find the net during his time at Juventus last season.

Therefore, Arsenal would be wise to prioritize signing a striker with a proven track record at the highest level, and Isak’s performances for Newcastle in the Premier League this season could position him as an ideal target.
