Fans stunned by ‘staggering’ fee Southampton want for Tyler Dibling amid Man Utd, Man City and Spurs interest

Tyler Dibling is poised to become one of the most costly teenagers in football history if Southampton secures the substantial fee they are requesting. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder is regarded by Southampton as one of the top young talents in English football and has attracted attention from numerous clubs following an impressive season with the Saints.

According to the Mail, 14 Premier League teams have expressed interest in Dibling, with notable clubs such as Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool, and Manchester City showing particular enthusiasm for the highly regarded England under-21 international.

Additionally, there is considerable interest from Germany, with Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig all keen on acquiring the teenager, who has made 25 appearances in the Premier League this season.

How much do Southampton want for Dibling?

A report from The Telegraph indicates that Southampton is poised to request over £100 million for their star player, surpassing the fee Manchester City paid to acquire Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in 2021.

Tottenham is reportedly interested in his profile and versatility, having identified Dibling as a ‘priority target’ following their inquiry about him in January.

Nevertheless, the report also mentions that Manchester United holds a significant advantage due to their technical director, Jason Wilcox, who is familiar with the young player from his previous role as director of football at Southampton. Additionally, United scouts observed Dibling during his appearance for the England under-19 team in their match against Wales in Bangor City this month.

“It is the quality he has got – the belief in himself and the physical power. He just goes past people with ease. He has got a lovely left foot. He is very brave on the ball and his decision-making is good,” he said.

“It is difficult to get too over the top with these young players, because he has just come on to the scene, but he is going to be something special.

“It is great for him getting all these minutes at Southampton. They are giving him the freedom to play and giving him time to learn the game.

“He is just enjoying himself and he is playing with a real belief in himself. He is just instrumental in this team.”
