Gary Lineker leaves Wayne Rooney and the rest of BBC panel speechless with brutal comment that nobody saw coming

Gary Lineker ‘violated’ Wayne Rooney with a brutal comment about his management in the BBC Studio at the FA Cup final.

Eberechi Eze completed a spectacular breakaway for the Eagles in the first half, leaving Manchester City one goal behind Crystal Palace.

Palace keeper Dean Henderson saved Omar Marmoush’s penalty and made a series of outstanding saves before halftime, leaving City supporters furious that he wasn’t sent off for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.

Micah Richards, a BBC Sport studio analyst, asked Rooney what he would say to his team if he were Oliver Glasner, leading by one goal at halftime, with Palace leading 1-0 at the moment.

In his capacity as the studio’s presenter, Lineker claimed that Rooney’s sides “were never one up” at the half.

Lineker ‘violated’ Rooney with the scathing appraisal, according to one social media user.

Over the past few years, Rooney has been making his managerial debut and hasn’t completely settled in.

Before returning to DC United and finishing his illustrious Major League Soccer playing career, he had a challenging beginning with Derby County.

Rooney had to choose his next team carefully because the original MLS team had also been playing poorly. Instead, he landed up at a listing in Birmingham City.

They were demoted soon after he left, but under Chris Davies, they recovered at the first attempt. Plymouth Argyle, who were also demoted from the Championship shortly after Rooney’s stay ended, will be hoping for the same outcome.

However, on a bright Saturday afternoon at Wembley, the former Manchester United player wouldn’t have anticipated receiving amicable verbal abuse from his fellow former England striker.

Richards was present, and Glenn Murray’s face spoke for itself.

In recent weeks, there have been more and more rumors that Lineker may be leaving the BBC. Due to his eagerness to offend some segments of society, the outspoken anchor has been no stranger to controversy; a recent, poorly thought-out social media post only served to exacerbate the situation.

Lineker had to apologize after removing the post, which featured a rat image and discussed Zionism.

“Whilst I strongly believe in the importance of speaking out on humanitarian issues, including the tragedy unfolding in Gaza, I also know that how we do so matters,” he said.

“I take full responsibility for this mistake. That image does not reflect my views. It was an error on my part for which I apologise unreservedly.”
