Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has become the topic of speculation after reports of interest from Real Madrid
It was reported over the weekend that Carlo Ancelotti’s side had sent scouts to watch the 30-year-old, with speculation suggesting Los Blancos were lining up a whopping £90million move for the Portuguese. Fernandes has been the standout performer for United this season, scoring 16 and assisting as many for Ruben Amorim’s side during a disappointing campaign
Amorim sensationally shut down the reports during his press conference ahead of their Premier League return against Nottingham Forest. But the United skipper, even before his multiple heroic performances for the club this season, detailed that there are plenty of memorable moments to come at the Theatre of Dreams.
“Everybody knows the passion I have for Manchester United,” he said after signing his new deal in the summer, which now runs until the end of the 2027 season
“I understand the responsibility and significance of wearing this shirt, and the levels of dedication and desire required to represent this incredible club.
“I have had so many special moments here already; hearing my name sung from the Stretford End, scoring a hat-trick against Leeds, leading the team out at Old Trafford on European nights and lifting trophies at Wembley.
But I wouldn’t have signed this contract if I didn’t believe that my best moments in a United shirt are still to come.
“From my discussions with the football leadership and manager, it is clear how determined everyone is to fight for major trophies in the years ahead.
I can see how positive the future is going to be and I am relishing leading this team forward.”
