‘In the coming days’ – Fabrizio Romano claims Man United will complete first signing soon

Manchester United are on the verge of securing Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha in a significant summer transfer move.

Renowned transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano said that talks between Cunha and United are progressing well and that both parties are feeling good.

The current hush around the move may have alarmed United supporters as early rumors suggested that the club was moving forward with the deal to sign Cunha this summer.

Matheus Cunha deal is still on

However, Romano has provided a positive update for the Man United fans, telling that that the deal is still on and in the next few days, progress will be made over it.

Speaking on his Youtube channel, Romano said:

“Ruben Amorim appreciates Cunha and the player knows this very well.”

“I want to say to Man United fans…relax a bit on this one. Yes there was a feeling two or three weeks ago that this deal could happen in a few days, but it always takes time to prepare a contract, to agree on the salary, to speak to the agent, and then to agree with Wolves on the payment terms.

“We expect Man United to advance on this one in the coming days. Cunha is keen on the move and it’s just about completing the contract agreement.”

Man United need an attacker like Cunha

Cunha, a 25-year-old player, has demonstrated remarkable skill while playing for Wolves, scoring 15 goals and assisting six times in the Premier League this season.

His ability to adapt to various attacking positions fits well with the tactical approach of United manager Ruben Amorim, especially in a 3-4-2-1 formation where Cunha could function as a left-sided number ten, supporting Bruno Fernandes in central midfield and Amad Diallo on the right.

The Brazilian’s contract features a £62.5 million release clause, which United is willing to activate. Reports indicate that the overall deal, including potential add-ons, may total €80 million.

Although clubs such as Arsenal and Newcastle United have shown interest, Cunha is said to prefer a transfer to Old Trafford, perceiving it as a pivotal advancement in his career.
