Manchester United and Arsenal may compete for Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres during the summer transfer window. According to Fabrizio Romano’s GIVEMESPORT transfer newsletter, the Premier League team will inquire about their chances of acquiring Gyokeres within the next few days, following Sporting’s season’s conclusion.
As long as Benfica doesn’t improve their performance by five goals, the Lisbon-based team will win the league if they defeat Vitoria Guimaraes on the last day of the season. The Portuguese Cup final against their local rivals will take place the week following, and it will mark the conclusion of their campaign.
Romano: Gyokeres Exit to ‘Become Clear’ in Next Few Days
Given that Gyokeres has been linked to Arsenal, United, and other teams in recent months, it looks like his future is outside of Portugal. His talents will probably be sought after in the upcoming weeks, and since both United and Arsenal will require a new lucky charm during the summer transfer window, he is at the top of their list.
In his GIVEMESPORT transfer newsletter, Romano said that Arsenal and United are still interested in signing him, but they will have to wait until the end of next week due to Sporting’s forthcoming games before they can pursue him further.

In his GIVEMESPORT transfer newsletter, Romano said that Arsenal and United are still interested in signing him, but they will have to wait until the end of next week due to Sporting’s forthcoming games before they can pursue him further.
“Interest remains from Arsenal and Man United, but it will be clear in the next days as Viktor remains focused on Sporting until the end of the season.”
Despite struggling in the league phase, Gyokeres has had an incredible season, scoring 38 goals in just 32 Primeira Liga games and six Champions League goals in eight appearances.
With three different hat-tricks, two four-goal hauls in the league, and a hat-trick against Manchester City in Europe, he has had what is possibly the best season of any European striker. As a result of his exploits, he has been dubbed the “best striker in the world.”
With just 100 games played for the team, the former Brighton striker has scored 95 goals overall. Having played for Sporting under Ruben Amorim earlier in the season, he would be well-suited to the Portuguese manager’s system, while Mikel Arteta needs a clinical goal scorer after struggling to put the ball in the net in recent months.
