Leny Yoro has broken his silence after being criticised by Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher on Sky Sports.
On Sunday, Yoro started for Manchester United at St. James’ Park as they took on Newcastle United in the Premier League.
The Magpies came away 4-1 winners thanks to a brace by Harvey Barnes plus goals from Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes. Alejandro Garnacho was the scorer for the visitors.
On Monday night, while appearing on Sky Sports, Henry was heavily critical of Yoro’s actions after Barnes’ second goal.
Yoro was spotted looking around after the goal was scored, which irked Henry.
“Pause on Yoro. I don’t know why… I don’t know what he is looking at? Are you looking at the linesman, trying to see if he is going to bail you out, I don’t know?”
Henry added: “I don’t know if he thought there was an offside. We all know it’s a goal. What are you looking at? I actually don’t know. I’ve never seen that before.”
Sky Sports has since deleted the clip, with Carragher also reportedly removing a post where he had responded with four weeping emojis.
On Tuesday, Yoro broke his social media silence as he posted a picture of him from the Newcastle match on his Instagram story.
Accompanying the picture was a quote which read: “Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. Philippians 4:6”
