Matheus Cunha is “guaranteed” to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window, with Manchester United leading the race for his signature, according to Eduardo Burgos.
It has been a fairly turgid season for Wolves, though one in which they have all but confirmed their place in the Premier League for next season. Being faced with a relegation battle under Gary O’Neil, Wolves chose to sack their manager in favour of Vitor Pereira, who has had a calming influence on the club thus far.
Despite Wolves’ overall lack of fortunes across the campaign, they have still had some stand-out players, none more so than Matheus Cunha, who has enjoyed his best season in the Premier League to date since moving to the Midlands in 2023 from Atletico Madrid.
Cunha, who has been described as “sensational,” signed a new contract in the season, only to announce months later that he planned to leave Wolves in the summer transfer window. Such a statement has seen a number of potential suitors made aware to the situation, with GIVEMESPORT sources having confirmed that Manchester United have held discussions with Cunha’s agent ahead of a potential transfer.
It would seem that there is more than just words to the interest in Cunha from the Red Devils, who could make a move for the Brazilian international.
