Man Utd now eyeing deal to sign £34m wonderkid after missing out on Quenda – report

As reported by Caught Offside, Manchester United is among several clubs expressing interest in acquiring Southampton’s promising talent, Tyler Dibling, during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Southampton has endured a challenging season in the Premier League, accumulating only 9 points from 28 matches, which places them in a precarious position likely leading to relegation to the Championship.

Despite the team’s struggles, Dibling has stood out as a bright prospect, and Caught Offside indicates that the young player is dissatisfied with his situation on the South Coast and is seeking a move away from Southampton this year.

This situation has attracted the attention of several top clubs, with Manchester United being one of the teams keen on the player. A bid in the region of £34 million may be enough to secure his transfer.

Additionally, Tottenham, Aston Villa, and RB Leipzig have also shown significant interest in signing the Southampton academy graduate.

Quenda alternative

United were strongly expected to acquire Sporting Lisbon’s promising talent Geovany Quenda to enhance their right wing-back position; however, Chelsea unexpectedly intervened in the deal yesterday. Quenda has already completed his medical examinations with the London club and is set to officially join them in either January or July 2026.

In light of missing out on Quenda, the Red Devils are in search of an alternative. Dibling may emerge as a viable candidate. The 19-year-old is a left-footed right winger who has garnered attention for his speed, dribbling ability, and intelligent movement within the opponent’s penalty area.

Additionally, Dibling has demonstrated a strong work ethic off the ball, showcasing defensive awareness and a willingness to track back. He is not hesitant to engage in challenges and possesses a relentless work rate. However, he may need to improve his discipline, having accumulated six yellow cards in 24 league appearances this season.

At a price of £34 million, he would be a worthwhile investment given his significant potential. United may need to act swiftly to secure his signature, as there is notable interest from clubs such as Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Leipzig. Leipzig had attempted to sign him in January and may pursue him again during the summer transfer window.
