Man Utd player ratings vs Leicester City, Harry Amass debut verdict as 8/10 star provides perfection

Manchester United maintained their positive momentum under Ruben Amorim, securing a 3-0 victory against a struggling Leicester City. The match was overshadowed by concerns for Ayden Heaven, who appeared to sustain a significant injury.

From the outset, Manchester United demonstrated their dominance, looking the more likely to score. Aside from a speculative attempt by Vardy, the match was largely one-sided, culminating in Rasmus Hojlund ending his goal drought with a strike at the 30-minute mark.

The second half began in a similar fashion, but United’s momentum was disrupted when Heaven suffered a serious injury, necessitating his removal from the field on a stretcher.

However, United quickly regained their composure, with Garnacho having a goal disallowed for offside as they continued to apply pressure. Shortly thereafter, he found himself in the box again and successfully scored.

Bruno Fernandes later added to the scoreline with a well-placed finish from a cross by Dalot in the closing moments of the match.

Leicester City posed little threat throughout the game, allowing United to comfortably manage the remainder of the match, during which Harry Amass made his debut and Chido Obi also received playing time.

Here’s how the players rated-

Andre Onana – 7

Looking increasingly comfortable coming off his line now. Secure when called upon rarely.

Matthijs de Ligt – 7.5

Could’ve played with a cigar in his mouth as he was rarely threatened. Sterling block in second half.

Victor Lindelof – 5

An iffy moment in the air when he was bailed out by Onana, brittle physically.

Ayden Heaven – 9

Last-ditch tackles, dribbles, progressive passing, and supreme confidence. Man Utd have a diamond. Praying for a full recovery soon from what looked like a serious injury.

Noussair Mazraoui – 7.5

Rolls-Royce generally reserved for centre-backs but he fits the bill. Shone as a wing-back this time.

Diogo Dalot – 6.5

Numerous opportunities to create/score but almost always made the wrong decision until he found Fernandes with a cross for an assist.

Bruno Fernandes – 9

Brilliant ball over the top for Hojlund to get his goal, credited with the assist for Garnacho then scored himself later. Captain fantastic.

Manuel Ugarte – 8

Snappy and aggressive in tackles. Allowed his side to fly forward by holding the fort alone. Proved perfection as Amorim’s ideal defensive midfielder.

Alejandro Garnacho – 7.5

Carried attacking thrust on the left and scored twice, got one as one was ruled out for offside.

Christian Eriksen – 5

Almost scored a worldie off a corner but was uncharacteristically sloppy with his passing otherwise.

Rasmus Hojlund – 8

Started where he left off against Sociedad with another strong game. Rewarded with a goal this time to finally break his drought.

Substitutes

Toby Collyer – 7

Came on to play right wing-back after Heaven’s injury and fared well defensively.

Harry Amass – 7

His arrival allowed the team to put round pegs in round holes. Willing to move forward and help in attack. Something to build on his debut

Joshua Zirkzee – 7

Forever growing in confidence with some smart runs and crafty dribbles.

Casemiro – 6.5

Did his usual sweeping job comfortably as Leicester looked down and out.

Chido Obi – 6

Came on late for Hojlund to shore up the attacking ranks.
