Man Utd players ratings vs Wolves, Tyler Fredricson shines on debut but 3/10 star reaches new low

Manchester United’s Premier League campaign continues to stutter to a finish as they fell to a limp 0-1 defeat to Wolves at Old Trafford in a game lacking quality.

A tentative start to the game set the tone for the whole first half as neither side really tested the goalkeepers, the game being scruffy and played in the middle.

United’s debutant Tyler Fredricson did well, so did transfer target Matheus Cunha, but the killer edge remained missing throughout as teams went into half-time goalless.

Hojlund did get some good chances in the second half but was wasteful, as Pablo Sarabia injected the game with quality as he free-kick beat Onana to give Wolves the lead.

United huffed and puffed but not many Man Utd fans would’ve thought a Lyon repeat was on the cards and so it proved as they lost 0-1.

Here’s how the players rated-

Man Utd player ratings

Andre Onana – 6

Never tested until Sarabia’a free-kick which was too good for any goalkeeper in world football.

Noussair Mazraoui – 6

Largely untroubled in a game of few moments but conceded one free-kick in a dangerous area.

Victor Lindelof – 6

The captain for the day seemed energised by the honour and did well to lead the defence.

Tyler Fredricson – 7

Too soon to say if he’s the next star but it was a flawless debut in both, defence and buildup.

Patrick Dorgu – 6

Started on the right this time but brought his trademark energy and drive minus the end product.

Harry Amass – 7.5

Showed shades of Luke Shaw when he was breaking out with his dynamic runs and dangerous crosses.

Manuel Ugarte – 6.5

Leader of the midfield and played like it. Great display outside of one mistake which almost cost United.

Christian Eriksen – 6

Forced one save from a free-kick but should have been more threatening from set-pieces.

Alejandro Garnacho – 7

Acted as United’s outlet and ball-carrier every time they passed to him even if the end product was missing.

Kobbie Mainoo – 6.5

Grew into it after a slow start. Much improved as one of the No. 10s.

Rasmus Hojlund – 3

Starting to do the little things well but his finishing and overall quality is just not good enough overall. A new low as Obi cleared him in limited minutes again.

Substitutes

Bruno Fernandes – 7

Immediately brought threat to the pitch with his progressive passing. Too good.

Diogo Dalot – 6

Started shakily after coming on for Dorgu but improved and attacked with purpose.

Mason Mount – 6.5

Bundle of energy with his snappy tackles and interceptions but not dangerous enough in attack.

Chido Obi – 7

Showed great touches in the buildup and looked more dangerous than Hojlund. Has to be first-choice at least in the league.

Leny Yoro – 6

Came on when attacking thrust was needed and he isn’t really the player for that
