Manchester United have reportedly entered the race for Morgan Rogers who has been one of Aston Villa’s breakout stars this season.
The 22-year-old is a youth product of West Bromwich Albion who was poached by Manchester City. After spending several years with the Cityzens, he was sold to Middlesbrough in the summer of 2023. However, his stint with the Championship club proved short-lived, as Aston Villa decided to splash around £8 million for his services in January 2024.
Since then, the attacking midfielder has been growing from strength to strength, with his transfer value soaring (reaching €50 million as estimated by Transfermarkt).
This season, Rogers has thus far contributed with 14 goals and 12 assists in all competitions, cementing himself as an invaluable piece in Unai Emery’s tactical jigsaw. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta hailed his powerful ‘displays’, noting his ability to drive forward with the ball.
Naturally, the England international’s sensational campaign has attracted many suitors, including Man Utd.
According to Fichajes, Ruben Amorim has identified Rogers has a suitable profile for his tactical system. He would be able to play as one of the two attacking midfielders behind the lone striker.
