Man Utd told to snub Viktor Gyokeres for game-changing 372-goal striker signing

Manchester United should continue to prioritize acquiring Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, despite him approaching 32 years of age this summer, as suggested by a former striker of the club.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure in November 2022, Manchester United has been actively seeking a top-tier striker. Although Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have joined the squad, both are still in the early stages of their careers.

The club’s management sees potential in Hojlund to develop into a leading goalscorer; however, head coach Ruben Amorim is advocating for the acquisition of a more seasoned player this summer to support the young Dane.

Possible candidates include Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, Victor Osimhen of Napoli—currently on loan at Galatasaray—and Jean-Philippe Mateta from Crystal Palace.

Louis Saha, who represented Manchester United from 2004 to 2008, believes that Kane would elevate Amorim’s team more than any other forward option available.

When asked if the England captain remains the optimal target for United despite his age, Saha responded (via Goal): “I believe so. His statistics speak for themselves; while he may be older than he was two years ago, he has still scored prolifically for Bayern Munich. It’s unfortunate, as those goals could have potentially secured the Premier League title for United.

“His performances would instill confidence in other players like Rasmus and Zirkzee, as well as those who require guidance, assurance, and leadership. That’s the kind of player I am looking for.”
