Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe engaged in a series of revealing interviews with several media outlets, which were broadcast on Monday.

He provided an in-depth look at the internal dynamics of the club, sharing significant observations regarding its present condition while candidly stating that certain players fall short of expectations.

In the midst of his critiques, Ratcliffe notably commended Bruno Fernandes, recognizing his substantial contribution to the team.

He said (via BBC Sport): “We’ve got this period of transformation where we move from the past to the future.

“There are some great players in the squad as we know, the captain is a fabulous footballer.

“We definitely need Bruno (Fernandes), he’s a fantastic footballer.”

Fernandes is arguably the most significant acquisition for United since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Portuguese playmaker has been the club’s pivotal figure over the last five years, consistently delivering exceptional performances when it matters most.

He certainly merits greater recognition than he currently receives from former United players.

The admiration from United supporters was unmistakable when he executed a remarkable free-kick against David Raya during the match against Arsenal on Sunday.

Ratcliffe specifically commended Fernandes, further reinforcing his indispensable role at Old Trafford.

The player, valued at £46 million, has been nothing less than extraordinary, acting as the team’s driving force.

As the summer transfer window approaches, United is anticipated to undertake significant changes, with several players likely to be released.

Nevertheless, one certainty remains – Fernandes will continue to captain the team in the upcoming season.
