Jadon Sancho may be poised for an unexpected return to Manchester United this summer rather than finalizing a permanent transfer to Chelsea, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The England international joined Chelsea on a season-long loan during the summer following a disagreement with Erik Ten Hag last season. The agreement includes a stipulation that the loan could become permanent if Chelsea secures a finish of 14th place or higher in the Premier League this season.
Currently, Chelsea is positioned within the top four and appears likely to achieve a secure placement in European competitions; however, the completion of the transfer is not assured at this time, despite the initial conditions of the agreement.
Sancho Could Return to Manchester United
Chelsea hasn’t agreed terms
Sancho is very happy at Chelsea, but if terms are not agreed beforehand, then there is a chance he could be allowed to return to Old Trafford.
But fans are highly unlikely to welcome him back to the club with open arms, regardless of how Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ruben Amorim would view him as an option for the squad after some of his social media comments since moving on.
It could make for an awkward summer for Man Utd and INEOS, however as they would be forced to try and find a new club for another unwanted player on huge wages, and they found out last summer how difficult that was to do.
Sancho is currently content at Chelsea; however, if an agreement is not reached in advance, there exists a possibility that he may be permitted to return to Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, it is improbable that fans would embrace his return to the club, irrespective of how Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ruben Amorim might consider him as a potential addition to the squad, especially in light of some of his social media remarks since his departure.
This situation could lead to a challenging summer for Manchester United and INEOS, as they would need to seek a new club for another player who is not in demand and commands a substantial salary, a task they discovered to be quite difficult last summer.
