Manchester United has expressed interest in acquiring Koni De Winter during the upcoming summer transfer window, as reported by TMW.
The Italian news source indicates that Manchester United, who have also been linked to Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, is in competition with fellow Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur for De Winter’s signature this summer.
West Ham United is reportedly also keen on the 22-year-old Belgian international, who is capable of playing both as a central defender and a full-back.
Genoa is prepared to part ways with De Winter at the conclusion of the season, seeking a transfer fee of €30 million (£25.30 million) for the young talent. His agent, Fabrizio Lioi, described him in December 2021 to TuttoJuve as “tactically intelligent” and “technically proficient.”
Italian clubs Inter Milan, Napoli, and AS Roma have shown admiration for De Winter and are interested in securing his services this summer.
Additionally, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have also shown interest in the player, according to the report.
TMW further notes that numerous clubs have recently reached out to inquire about the former Juventus prospect, who intends to prioritize the most ambitious project to advance his career.

De Winter represents a promising talent in Serie A, with a bright and prosperous future anticipated for him.
Although Manchester United is often regarded as the preeminent club in England, they have diminished in stature and are no longer contenders for the UEFA Champions League positions in the Premier League standings.
Given the interest from clubs such as Inter and Napoli, it seems unlikely that the Belgian international would choose Manchester United over these formidable options.
Inter, the reigning champions of Italy, are well-positioned to potentially secure another Serie A title this season, along with the possibility of triumphing in the UEFA Champions League.
Napoli, one of Italy’s most prestigious clubs, also has a strong chance of claiming the Scudetto this season.
