Roy Keane demands one big improvement from Marcus Rashford ahead of £40m Aston Villa transfer

Marcus Rashford, 27, has had a strong start to life at Villa Park, recording his third assist in six games on Friday night as he helped Aston Villa defeat Cardiff City to secure their spot in the FA Cup quarterfinals. Roy Keane discussed what Rashford needs to improve on in his game in light of rumours that the Manchester United loanee has warmed up to the idea of joining Aston Villa outright once his loan spell ends.

“Marco Asensio, a talented player, walks onto it.” Beautiful, well-executed goal, but he ought to consider scoring a few goals of his own.

Villa has a lot of alternatives, which is what you want. The key is striking a balance.

Warming up to the Aston Villa deal, Marcus Rashford
There is a £40 million option to sign the forward outright as part of Villa’s loan arrangement. Additionally, the Sun claims that Rashford has made it possible to extend the loan period.

Unai Emery was the first of two explanations cited to explain why.

After being immediately pleased by the Spaniard, Rashford reportedly “thinks Unai Emery is the perfect manager to resurrect his Premier League and international career.”

Starring in the the toughest league in the world for a team regularly challenging for European qualification will do Rashford’s chances of impressing new England boss, Thomas Tuchel, a world of good.

The report added: ‘[Rashford] has also impressed his team-mates, his new manager and Villa’s fans since his arrival in the West Midlands.

‘That has been reiterated by Rashford’s strong commitment on the training ground – one of the areas of his game which was questioned during his time at Old Trafford.’

The Sun’s report concluded: ‘Rashford is veering towards the idea of remaining in England and in the Premier League rather than relocating overseas.’

If Rashford can add goals to his game as Keane demanded, all the signs will point towards a permanent deal being sealed in June.
