Roy Keane offered a surprise verdict on Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho ahead of the massive clash with local rivals Manchester City.
On Sunday afternoon, United welcome fierce rivals City to Old Trafford for one of the most highly-anticipated derbies of the annual football calendar.
Heading into the match, fans discussed the future of young winger Garnacho given the fact that he was dropped by manager Ruben Amorim for the reverse fixture earlier in this season due to behavioural issues.
And now, United legend Keane has spoken up about the Argentine winger, offering a surprising opinion on him and what he needs to change in his game.
Despite being a key player for United under former manager Erik ten Hag last season, Garnacho has failed to impress under Amorim, scoring just two goals in 28 appearances under his new boss.
But while speaking before kick-off on Sunday, Keane was surprisingly positive as he admitted that he still feels that the 20-year-old can have a successful future at Old Trafford, despite admitting that there were serious questions over his abilities.
Speaking on Sky Sports, the former United captain said: “I think recently there’s been huge question marks over him, I think he makes decent runs, he is a threat, he does try to make runs in behind.
“But his end product has been so poor this year, particularly in recent games. That’s an area of his game that, if he wants to stay at this Man United team and get Man United competing towards the top, end product is key.
“If we go back to even Foden, when they’re all fit it’s the end product, the final pass or actually getting a goal.
