Sources: Update on Man United sacking Ruben Amorim today

Man United are unlikely to sack Ruben Amorim at the end of the season despite speculation over his future, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke explained that it would be a “huge surprise” if United were to part ways with the boss during the off-season.

Instead, they are planning to back him with new players in the transfer window in a bid to improve the available options and help the transition into his style of play.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in February that INEOS want to sign Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane as a statement of intent.

Meanwhile, the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Matheus Cunha, Morgan Gibbs-White and Hugo Ekitike have all been linked with United as part of their ambitious summer plans.

Amorim has prioritised signing a new striker, but feels a number of positions across his team could be improved with the board’s support.
