Manchester United will face Real Sociedad at Old Trafford this evening for the second leg of their Europa League last-16 matchup.

In the first leg, the Red Devils secured a 1-1 draw, thanks to a goal from Joshua Zirkzee, leaving the tie delicately balanced.

Regarding team updates, Lisandro Martínez, Amad Diallo, Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans, Kobbie Mainoo, and Altay Bayindir will all be absent due to injuries.

Additionally, Harry Maguire is unavailable, and Leny Yoro has joined the injury list after sustaining an issue during the match against Arsenal last weekend. On a positive note, Manuel Ugarte has returned to full training following his recovery and may be included in the matchday squad.

Mason Mount has not played since being substituted early in the game against Manchester City in December due to injury. Although he has resumed full training with the team, this match will be too soon for his return.

Patrick Dorgu, who was suspended for the match against Arsenal, is eligible to participate tonight. However, Chido Obi has not been registered to compete in this season’s Europa League.

Expected Man Utd line-up vs Real Sociedad

Ruben Amorim may implement two alterations to the starting XI that faced the Gunners last weekend, although Andre Onana is anticipated to retain his position as the goalkeeper.

Matthijs de Ligt is expected to occupy the right center-back role, with Victor Lindelof positioned centrally, and Noussair Mazraoui completing the back three. Diogo Dalot is projected to play as the right wing-back, while Dorgu is likely to take the left wing-back position.

In the midfield, Casemiro is anticipated to partner with Bruno Fernandes, while Zirkzee and Alejandro Garnacho are expected to assume the roles of the two attacking midfielders. Consequently, Christian Eriksen may find himself on the bench.

Rasmus Hojlund is expected to rejoin the starting lineup after having come on as a substitute in the previous match. Below is the anticipated Manchester United lineup:
