United plotting sensational swoop for 17yo French record-breaking jewel, scouts have raved about him – report

Manchester United should consider enhancing the quality of their midfield during the summer, given the current resources available to Ruben Amorim.

While Casemiro is performing well at present, he does not align with the head coach’s long-term strategy, and Christian Eriksen is also anticipated to depart at the end of the season.

Kobbie Mainoo has yet to establish his optimal role within the new 3-4-3 formation, which has necessitated Bruno Fernandes to assume the responsibilities of a deep-lying playmaker.

Amorim aims to see the club captain revert to his role as an attacking midfielder, and the club is actively scouting various talents from across Europe.

Ayyoub Bouaddi in demand

The most recent addition to that list is reported by TBR Football, which indicates that Manchester United has entered the competition for Lille’s promising talent, Ayyoub Bouaddi.

At just 17 years old, Bouaddi set multiple records last season, including becoming the youngest player to participate in a European club competition and in Ligue 1 for the French team, as well as the youngest to start a UEFA Champions League match for Lille.

He is versatile, capable of playing throughout the midfield and even as a supplementary centre-back, though he particularly shines as a central midfielder. Scouts have returned with highly favorable evaluations of his performance after observing him closely this season.

In addition to Manchester United, there is notable interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Brighton. Furthermore, clubs beyond England, such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig, are also keeping a close watch on his development.

“Sources have told TBR Football that Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Brighton have all taken the chance to watch Ayyoub Bouaddi in action.

“TBR Football has also been told that the Premier League clubs have been left with ‘glowing’ reports on the teenager.

Lille will not let go so easily

“But there is more than just interest from the Premier League in Bouaddi, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig having all watched him this year.”

It is important to note that the Ligue 1 club is poised to lose both Angel Gomes and Jonathan David this summer, prompting them to make every effort to retain their most valuable asset.

Additionally, the player is only 17 years old, which means he cannot join Manchester United until January 2026. Considering United’s pressing needs, it will be intriguing to observe whether the club chooses to pursue this transfer.

The France U21 international is under contract until 2027 and has an estimated market value of €25 million according to Transfermarkt. Given the level of interest in him, it will be challenging for INEOS to obtain his signature.

Several Lille players are on Manchester United’s radar, including former Carrington graduate Gomes and goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier. The 20-time English league champions maintain a strong relationship with the French club, particularly following their recent acquisition of Leny Yoro last summer.
